The special award presented by the judges as “recognition for all he does in uniting the industry”. While onboard, Rebecca explored the ship’s stunning contemporary interiors, watched an amazing acrobatic performance and sampled the best Mexican meal she’s ever had in the Pink Agarve restaurant. In addition, she attended a press conference, where Virgin founder Sir Richard Branson, Virgin Voyages CEO Tom McAlpin and several other executives discussed the inspiration behind the brand, the ship and the adult-only cruise experience.

“Scarlet Lady is the culmination of 50 years of practice...every little detail is incredible,” said Branson.

Rebecca also interviewed Virgin Voyages’ Dee Cooper to ask how she worked with a collective of interior designers to bring the 'modern romance of sailing' to Scarlet Lady. The interview will appear in the 2020 issue of Cruise & Ferry Interiors, so to make sure you don’t miss it!

Alex celebrated with MSC Cruises as it took delivery of MSC Grandiosa from Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire and sailed to Le Havre. His favourite areas of the ship included the virtual reality maze and the large LED screen covering the ship’s internal promenade – the tasty food was also a big hit with Alex and everyone else onboard!

Meanwhile, Richard joined Norwegian Cruise Line on Norwegian Encore’s pre-inaugural cruise from Germany to England. Among Richard’s many highlights were the amazing food, the theatre shows and, of course, trying out the electric go karts on the top-deck speedway!

FEV was also at the event, introducing visitors to the prototype of SVEN (shared vehicle electric native), which proved to be a real hit with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Elly has an enviable CV. Not only has she achieved a first class degree in Linguistics at the University of York, but she’s also attained A-grade A-levels in Latin, maths and physics. She’s also gained valuable work experience at What’s On Media Group, undertaking proof-reading and editing duties.

Outside work Elly fills her time embroidering recycled clothing and trying out new vegan recipes, although she struggles tearing herself away from her new adopted cat.

凯发首页官网登陆Jon Ingleton, our executive editor, travelled to St. Petersburg in Russia for the Cruise Europe Conference at the end of April, getting some great insights into the challenges and opportunities facing European cruise ports. He also managed to squeeze in a mini cruise onboard Royal Caribbean International’s Independence of the Seas when she arrived at her new Southampton homeport after an extensive refit. Next up was the MedCruise General Assembly in Valletta, Malta, where Jon enjoyed hearing about the latest trends in the Mediterranean, and a trip to London to meet representatives from Norwegian ports during Norway Day at the end of May.

Meanwhile, our long-standing account manager Benedict set foot on his first cruise ship when he was invited to join Marella Cruises for Marella Explorer’s christening in Palma, Spain this May. Formerly TUI Cruises’ Mein Schiff 1, the vessel was refurbished and rebranded ahead of her move to join the Marella Cruises fleet.

Remarkably the answer was yes.

凯发首页官网登陆BBC Children in Need were delighted with the draft design, and in particular our flair and interpretation of their brand marketing style guidelines. Radio Leicester were equally ecstatic and so it was all systems go.

Down to the hardwork and creativity of the Tudor Rose team, alongside the wonderful folk at Radio Leicester, 2,000 copies of this beautiful recipe book were delivered in time for BBC Children in Need day on Friday 17 November.

A wonderful project which we are pleased to have been able to execute in rapid time and contribute a valuable donation that will hopefully benefit children who need it most.
